4 Day KAL yarn suggestions--and it's time to send in your Knit or Crochet Every Day in May entries! Yarn Folk

If you have been participating in Knit or Crochet Every Day in May, remember that I will be accepting completed entry forms up until June 5th--I'll draw for the prize on June 6th! Personally, I was on track every day up until May 25th--I didn't have a chance to knit in the car in the morning, and I had plans after work, and didn't return home until late. I guess it's a good thing I wasn't eligible anyway! ;)
If you need a reminder of the rules and prizes, you can find them outlined here. When it comes to returning your completed entry, you can either drop it off in person, or email me a photo of all 31 marked off days! We will plan on making this an annual event!

Current open hours are Monday - Thursday, 7am-3:30pm, Friday 8:30am - 5pm and Saturdays, 9am-4pm.

In-store shopping: masks are optional (but welcome and appreciated). Thanks for your help in keeping my business open to the public!

...to anticipate

While we are still waiting on our restock of Loch Lomond (it's moving, at least!), I've put together some potential color combinations in Loch Lomond, Berroco Lanas, Berroco Ultra Wool, and Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok. I've focused on combinations where we have a sweater quantity up to the largest size--there are other potential pairings, and I'm always happy to send a photo if you're not able to visit in person. You can find all our suggestions on our dedicated 4 Day KAL page

…to inspire

A friend's visit to the Renwick Gallery at the Smithsonian Museum inspired me to do some virtual investigation into the current exhibition, "This Present Moment: Crafting a Better World." The Renwick Gallery's 50th Anniversary Acquisition campaign has focused on purchasing works by leading craft artists, and it has broadened the representation of women, Black, indigenous, Latinx, Asian American, and LGBTQIA+ creators in the museum's permanent collection. While it's no substitute for an in-person visit, the Renwick Gallery's website has excellent digital resources, and a range of options for searching it. The Art + Artists page is a great place to start.

Things I worked on this week:

The Outline Tee in Amano Awa

The Anemone Cowl in Murky Depths Dyework Harbour Singles

Sock #2 (no pattern) in Knitterly Things Vesper Sock

Romi Hill's 10th Annual Shawl MKAL in Malabrigo Sock

The Photography Shawl in Loch Lomond

The start of a new sample in a yarn we'll be introducing soon!

Some of these got more love than others, but all inched forward at least a little!
