Thank you for your warm encouragement!

Thank you for your warm encouragement!

Heartfelt thanks for the outpouring of encouragement regarding our move announcement last week!

The next week or so is filled with getting a few orders placed prior to some price increases that have been announced, and with populating my move-related calendars and checklists.

(Where price increases are concerned, we are protected somewhat from tariff-related increases by virtue of the fact that we don't stock many products from the countries with the highest rates, the two exceptions being ChiaoGoo needles and Emma Ball notions. I can't purchase an infinite supply of needles but I am making sure that stock levels are topped up. For other lines, there will be some increases, but that is pretty typical for this time of year, as new price lists tend to come out at trade show time. Vendors are doing their best to protect us, and by extension, you from big increases, but there will be some.)

As for this year's trade show, I won't be attending this year. I had originally planned to do a little more direct importing this year, but I have put that on hold, and I don't feel like I can lose a whole week of move prep to travel!

As a reminder, our physical move dates are June 29 & 30, and we will be closed until  Monday, July 7.  We're planning the grand reopening party for Saturday, July 12th!

…mark your calendars

…new in the shop

I want to take a second to show you something that I didn't highlight very well as part of our LYS Day event! We ordered some great items from Katrinkles that Katy and her team created specifically for the day.

The 2025 LYS Day Stitch Marker sets have yarn love front and center! Shown here on rings that fit up to US 11 (8mm) knitting needle, we also have them on removable pin markers. Find them here, and our other Katrinkles stitch markers here.

We also have a very handy 2" keychain ruler. I never knew how handy having a tiny ruler on my person all the time was until Katrinkles had some in swag bags at a trade show a few years ago. For LYS Day, the "my LYS is the best" rulers were available with space to add a logo, so I had some made with the Washington state graphic. You can find them here.

…to inspire

While I have NO official role related to the Kittitas County Fair, I am approximately 99.99% sure that people who DO have official roles would be delighted if there was a strong support for this year's fair theme among the entries! And NOW (May) is a great time to cook up a fun project. I've collected a bundle of Ravelry patterns that feature sheep--see if there is something that catches your eye! You can find it here.

...currently stitching

I've had another secret project in the works, so that is...secret. I did make a bit of progress on the Double Win Mosaic Shawl from LYS Day, which I am sort of kind of trying to finish before I cast on any of the three sweaters I have yarn set aside for 🤦I might need to have more than one active project, though...

(What I should probably do is set up a contest to see how many partially complete projects turn up in the course of organizing for the shop move. Stay tuned for details on that.)
