We mentioned the proliferation of patterns for stand-alone hoods, or balaclavas, back at the beginning of December. Haven't started yet; also haven't ruled it out! (It's more a bandwidth issue, as opposed to a lack of interest issue.)
So anyway, last week the New York Times published an article on the popularity of "adult bonnets." (Here is a gift link to the article, so that you can bypass the paywall.) Of interest: the author begins with a look at the prevalence of these accessories in ready-to-wear fashion, but ends the article with a substantial look at knitting patterns that also reflect the trend. Maybe one day we'll see crochet included, too, but a fashion trend piece that includes patterns for handmade items at all is definitely progress!
This video from PetiteKnit had been viewed 16 million times before the NYT article! The Sophie Hood is on Ravelry here and on PetiteKnits here.

It's sleeve season, and I'm not even mad. Worked on the first sleeve for Bermy Basic 18, along with the first sleeve of the Spring Leaf Cardigan for Big Sis. Bermy is top down, Spring Leaf is bottom up. For that one (3 yo size) I've worked the body up to the armholes, and will add in the sleeves before proceeding to the yoke decreases.
