Trendsetter Apex! 🌞🌻🌞

See new yarn info below (with more to follow VERY soon) but first: due to my terrible skills at consolidating calendars, the Berroco Yarn Tasting on Friday, March 28th is from 4-6pm. It is sold out, and I will also be emailing everyone who has signed up individually, but it's 4-6pm, not 5-7pm. It was correct on the sign up page, but wrong in the blog post and email 🤦

…mark your calendars

…new in the shop

It's been rough out there in the shipping vortex! But we're happy to report that by the time you read this, we will have Trendsetter Apex on the shelves, and a couple of additional new yarns are right behind it. (We'll feature them next week!)

Apex is a cotton (76%) and hemp (24%) blend that showcases color-shifting gradients. The 100g skeins are 264 yards, and the recommended gauge is 20 stitches/4" on a 4mm/US6 needle. Whether your mind is on summer garments or accessories, this is a yarn that will help you keep your cool.

…to inspire

Is there a designer who has been catching your eye over and over again lately? For me, it's Irene Lin. Every time I turn around, I see a beautiful new design on her Instagram feed. Take a look at her patterns on Ravelry -- I've already cast on for the Nia Sweater (progress pictured above) and since that pattern was released, she's released five more patterns that I love. I'm a reasonably speedy knitter, but who can keep up with that?!

...currently stitching

I promised a look at the summer Sophie Scarf, and here it is! I used almost all of one ball of Apex on 4mm/US 6 needles. (This colorway was "Primary.")  I made sure I could use the maximum amount of yarn by beginning to weigh it periodically once I got past all the increases, and once I had about 52 grams remaining, I started decreasing. (I opted to reserve a couple of extra grams in case I had inadvertently knit any extra rows in the increase section.) Lightweight and colorful, I think this will get a lot of use in the warmer months!
