Are you attending either of our events this week? There are still a few spots left in our Darning Workshop with Erin of Wren Bird Arts (ps, you can darn more than socks!). This one takes place from 4-7pm on Wednesday, March 26, and is a hands on Zoom workshop--attend from the comfort of your own home or office. Then on Friday, we are hosting a yarn tasting here at the shop to preview Berroco's Spring & Summer yarns. This event is sold out, but if you are already registered, we will see you from 4-6pm. Bring a few sizes of needles and hooks with you to get a feel for these yarns.
Bring your current project, and spend some time with others who really vibe on yarn!

We have several new yarns to introduce you to this week:
Berroco's Modern Cotton DK is a DK weight cotton/rayon blend that's perfect for a wide range of summer tops and tanks. Take a look at Berroco's Montreal cardigan, or the Malaga tank. It's also on the list of yarns approved for making Knitted Knockers. At 335 yards for $11.50, it's also a heck of a great value!
Tillie was originally a spring/summer yarn last year, but there was a supply issue, and we didn't receive it until the end of August. This year, there is a fresh palette that is more tonal than speckled, and the colors are just plain happy. It's another knockout for summer garments (take a look at Bryony or Azalea Buds) and our shop sample for babies and toddlers, the Elmer Sweater, is so sweet.
Last, but not least, one of our favorite workhorse yarns, Berroco Vintage, now has coordinating tonals in Vintage Handpaint. Use these colors on their own, or paired with solid Vintage. Leo is a free cardigan pattern with sizes for both kids and adults.
Since we are on the subject of new yarns, I recorded a short tutorial on how to use Ravelry to search for patterns people have used a specific yarn to make. Find it on the Yarn Folk YouTube channel here.
Mr. Yarn Folk had a few days off last week, and my stitching time took a hit! We usually share driving responsibilities, so I lost a couple of hours of progress due to driving myself to work both ways! Still, I did finish the crocheting on a secret project for Local Yarn Shop Day (Saturday, April 26th; save the date!) and added some rounds to the Mira Tee using Wool Addicts Artsy (which is not, in fact, wool at all).
