We did a bunch of site maintenance last week (we know how to PARTY), and a feature we added to the site is a one-stop location to find kits--whether they are prepackaged (think Woobles, embroidery kits, needlefelting kits, etc) or ready-to-go knitting and crochet projects, you can now find them in the Kits collection. The collection is also linked in the Shop drop-down menu at the top of every page!
Bring your current project, and spend some time with others who really vibe on yarn! As we enter cold and flu season, please consider wearing a mask if you're feeling a little "off," or join us just as soon as you're feeling better!

Processing incoming freight through the ports has been a little wonky, so the order our tasting kit is in was delayed a bit--and after a classic fiasco one year where I scheduled the Berroco yarn tasting event too early, I wait for a tracking number before attaching a date to this seasonal event! (That year, it worked out, but only because my good-as-gold rep busted her tail to make it happen!)
The Spring Yarn Tasting will take place at Yarn Folk on Friday, March 28th from 5-7pm, and the cost is $10. You will receive swatchable samples of six Berroco yarns, the opportunity to look through the full pattern collections for the new yarns, refreshments, and a chance to win a door prize of a project-quantity of one of the new yarns. Space is limited; grab your spot here.
Are you a mender? Last night, I finally located the fabric to repair a pair of pants, and that reminded me to remind *you* that if you're interested in learning woven darning techniques from Erin of Wren Bird Arts, NOW is the time to enroll for her March 26th Zoom workshop!
Darning isn't just for socks, and it's a useful way to extend the life of hand knits and commercial fabrics alike. This class will be a virtual workshop, and Erin (⬇️) would love to see you there!
The summer Sophie Scarf is finished just ahead of the arrival of the yarn I used for it! We will feature it next week; stay tuned.
Meanwhile, I cast on a Mira tee in Wool Addicts* Artsy. This is an oversized design (calling for 16-20" of positive ease), but it's moving along quickly on US 10 1/2 needles.
(As it happens, both of the Wool Addicts yarns we carry are not primarily wool. Footprints is a cotton/wool/nylon blend sock yarn (that is also a great option for lightweight garments). Artsy is a cotton/acrylic tape yarn.)
