New kits: Caramel Shawl (knit) and Nasoloda (crochet)

Here we all are, soaking up the sunshine, sure that spring--aw, heck, SUMMER is here!

Slow your roll, friends :)

What IS almost here is spring and summer yarn--I have an order set to ship this week, and two more I need to finalize. And once the first one ships, we'll be able to set a date for the spring yarn tasting. Remember, with Berroco yarns, even if they are options I don't ultimately stock in the store, if you try something at the yarn tasting and fall in love, we can always get it for you via drop ship!

…mark your calendars

…new in the shop

This week we are introducing kits--one knit, and one crochet--featuring the work of two Ukranian designers.

© Kateryna Kazka

Kateryna Kazka's Caramel Shawl (knit) uses two skeins of a hand-dyed worsted--we're giving you multiple options in Malabrigo Rios or Malabrigo Seis Cabos. Worked on size 10 / 6mm needles, this project should fly! Kits include two skeins of yarn + the pattern.

Find the Caramel Shawl kits HERE.

The crochet kit for Elena Fedotova's Nasoloda. We're using Malabrigo here, too: who doesn't need an excuse to work with this #1 shop fave?

Kits include one skein each of two complementary colors of Rios, plus the pattern.

…to inspire

This week we are drawing our inspiration from our surroundings--historic Downtown Ellensburg.

Ellensburg is a pretty special place, and one thing that makes it shine is a dedication to historic preservation. As a Main Street Community, the Ellensburg Downtown Association (EDA) is committed to preserving our town's history while keeping downtown vibrant for generations to come.

To ensure that the EDA's work aligns with what matters most to you, your input is needed! Take this quick 5-minute survey to share what you love about downtown and what you’d like to see in the future. Can you help get to the goal of 300 responses?

Swatching of new yarns continues, and we like this cotton and hemp blend a lot. The colorways are smooth gradients, and if you're going to swatch, you might as well make a season-bridging Sophie Scarf, right?
