Ideas for Clearance Yarns!💡(Sale continues!)
Thanks to everyone who has already helped with Project-Make-Way-For-New-Stock 😎 We moved a LOT, and there are still plenty of inspiring choices.
Several have asked how long the sale will continue. Current pricing will be in effect this week. Additional discounts may take effect next week. Final weekend will be August 12-13. Especially when it comes to quantities for larger projects, it's worth acting fast! But there will be fun shopping throughout.
Also--we are closing out a few Addi needles: the Addi Lace, and the smallest and largest sizes of regular Addi Turbos. (We are maintaining regular Turbo sizes 3-10, along with Rockets and Rocket Squared.) Pro tip: large size needles are more expensive in any brand, so if you need to add some 11-15 needles to your collection, see what is available.

Current open hours are Monday - Thursday, 7am-3:30pm, Friday 8:30am - 5pm and Saturdays, 9am-4pm.

We're paused on receiving much in the way of new orders (limited space to store boxes and process receiving), but we'll begin seeing new Fall yarns in August, and we're hard at work finalizing more orders.

Looking for inspiration for what you might make with your clearance treasures?
Soft Donegal There are sweater quantities of a couple of colors--I used it for Daelyn and Treysta, which are two of my favorites to wear in the winter. It's also a classic for winter hats, mittens, and scarves.
Kenzie It's no secret how much I love this (tragically discontinued) yarn. I loved it for my January Gansey, and the Cable Channel Pillow. I also used it for a Churchmouse Library Vest, and six balls will make an Easy Folded Poncho. Two balls will make my Snowtracks Mittens--make a note with your purchase, and I'll gift you the pattern on Ravelry.
Kenzington (Kenzie's big sis) The Arika Cowl has a great boho vibe, and only requires one skein.
Cumbria Fingering The Year of Mittens featured Cumbria Fingering, and there are so many great choices. Well, twelve.
Erika Knight Wool Local I used this with Zauberball Crazy to make Hinterland. Other folks have used it either held double or with a strand of mohair to make Ranunculus or Love Note--it's delicate and especially pretty in the shorter sleeved versions, I think. The Heart Warmer cowl is a great one skein project.
Bumpy Road I made the Ohana shawl with two skeins. If you're a weaver, you know that slub yarns can give a really pleasing effect.
Polwarth Shimmer This was one of the featured yarns for the 2018 Olive Knits 4 Day KAL, the Beekeeper Cardigan, and there is a sweater's quantity in Ex's Flannel Shirt. One skein is enough for the Beekeeper Cowl.
Snowflake This is SO soft, and knits into a snowflake effect pattern. Use the Basic Beginner Hats for the Family or Barley patterns, whip out hats for everyone, and take your holiday photos! Boom, problem solved, and it's only July!
Baby Blossom DK Only a couple of colors available, but there's enough for your favorite knit or crochet DK or sport weight baby blanket pattern.
Galway Sport Great for colorwork projects. Try the Fiddlehead Mittens or the Plaid Hat & Cowl.
Jonagold Try two skeins for the Casper Mountain Cowl (crochet) or one for the Cold Spring Cowl.
Carina Pick two different colors and combine them in the Brioche Starter Cowl.
Coco One ball and two and a half hours are enough for the Two and a Half Hour Hat!
...to stitch
The Musselburgh hat has graduated to a circular needle. As I mentioned last week, this is a project where you measure your gauge once you have enough to measure, and choose the numbers that correspond to your gauge and the size you want to make at that point. My gauge is ~6.5 stitches/inch on size 4 needles, and I'm making an adult medium hat, so right now I'm just knitting in the round until the tube is 18" high. At that point, the decreases will begin, and when it's finished, one end gets shoved up inside to make a double thick hat--quadruple if you decide to turn up a brim over the ears! The yarn is Darnie, a tweedy fingering weight lambswool.
This week's progress on the Miles Shirt Jacket in Manchelopis included finishing the hem ribbing, and starting a sleeve. Between getting ready for the beginning of the clearance sale and my boy cat's insistence on sitting directly ON me at every possible opportunity yesterday, I'm pleased to have accomplished that much!
