…new in the shop
Still waiting on a couple of shipments, and I was planning on sharing some kits for Malabrigo's next KAL this week--but they haven't released the details to the public yet, so I'd better not. Oops!
We did receive a mini refresh of summer scents from Hive & Holler. Their
lotion bars are terrific for keeping your hands smooth and masquerading the effects of spending more time barefoot!
We also got quite a few new buttons in--
many are online, and some are available in-store. We specialize in stocking buttons in sizes that are most likely to work for hand knit or crocheted items!

Project planning: what's your favorite part?

For me, it's got to be choosing colors. My Tour de Fleece ambitions center around beginning to spin the yoke colors for a Paul Klee Sweater. I have two separate gradient sets of fiber that I'm using to create event more gradient colors from. In the end, I'll need 18 colors, and my plan for further blending the fiber together should result in 31 choices. Before I get to that point, though, I have to finish a couple of spins in order to have enough empty bobbins available, and I need to ply my first set of singles to be sure that the resulting yarn is a workable gauge for the project. (It should be--but I'll swatch before I fully launch into my plan.) Then I'll need to source the fiber I'll need for the main color of the sweater. (But that's not a Tour de Fleece proposition. Spinzilla, maybe? It's returning in October this year!)

I divided for the sleeves of the Friday Tee in CottonWool 3 (perfect yarn for it IMO), and while I would normally do the sleeves first, short sleeves are an exception! I think that what I may do is work half the body length, switch to a sleeve, finish the body, and then finish the other sleeve. I have samples for fall yarns I need to get started, but I'm working hard to get this one to the finish line!
I also made a second square for the granny square bag--and it was the same size as the first one. Now that's a win! I'm using the Uni Cotton we recently added to the shop.
