Are you ready? 4 Day KAL and Tour de Fleece Work Party 10am-4pm Saturday!
June 30, 2026
Reminder! If you're participating in either Tour de Fleece or the Olive Knits 4 Day KAL, and want to spend a day celebrating the beginning of your project, join us anytime from 10am - 4pm. More info on Tour de Fleece here (short version: its a choose your own adventure spinning challenge over the dates of the Tour de France cycling race). And you can find info on the 4 Day KAL Watermark Pullover here, the Watermark Cardigan here, and suggested yarns in last week's blog post.
And if you want to work on something else altogether? That's fine, too. We'll have some beverages here, and you're welcome to bring a packed lunch.
Again, that's THIS Saturday, 10am - 4pm. See you then!

…new in the shop
We have a couple of new things on the way, but they are being shipped internationally, so look for more information next week. (HOPEFULLY.)
However, I did forget to mention that we have a new option for putting long lengths of stitches on hold--Stitch Saver Cords. I happened to see these when I ran out of Purl Strings, and while they are extremely similar products, I decided to try them out because 1) adorable tiny jars and 2) the cord lengths are differentiated by color. Aren't they cute? (And functional!)

Here's a small sampling of things I liked this week:
If you are a Libby user for digital and/or audio books, you can log in on your laptop, not just your mobile device. I discovered this when I wanted to read a magazine article, and the sidebars were too small on my phone. And speaking of magazine articles, there are 401 craft-related magazines alone!
In the book I'm listening to (River of the Gods, by Candice Millard), there is mention of the historical origins of both the cardigan sweater and the raglan sleeve. I knew about the Earl of Cardigan, but FitzRoy Somerset, 1st Baron Raglan was a new historical figure to me!
I happened upon this invisible increase demonstrated by David van de Kamp. His original social media accounts were hacked an stolen a couple of months ago, so if you like his content, be sure to give him a follow to help him rebuild his following. Have you ever seen an equally invisible decrease? If you have, let me know

I finished the Watermark Cardigan! I opted for slightly smaller buttons than any of the choices I previewed last week, and when I calculated the spacing, I thought I was using 10 buttons, when in fact the math led to fourteen. (I was focused on the spacing; I can actually do basic computations.)
Since then, I've been working on the Friday Tee in CottonWool 3, and I made one of the squares for the granny square bag--although I changed to a different pattern. Still planning to make a handspun bear...
