Thank you!! ❤ (and let's keep this party bus rolling)! Yarn Folk

Thanks to everyone who turned up in person and visited yarnfolk.com on Saturday--I hope you had as much fun as I did.

(But maybe managed to stay better hydrated during the day!)

Today's email/blog post will be short and sweet--I stayed late to ship all of Saturday's orders, notify door prize winners, etc, but it's still chaotic in the shop. Good chaos, but chaos nonetheless!

Congratulations to door prize winners Kelsey E, Ann A, Larissa P, Jerri S, Diane W, Jennifer T, Susan H, Joanne S, Kay F, and Dianne B! Door prizes shipped with outstanding orders where applicable, or are at the shop--all winners have been notified by email.

Next up: Girls Night Out & LYS Day!

...new in the shop

I've tagged all the custom merchandise we debuted on Saturday with a new "Yarn Folk Custom" tag online, and you can click here to see them.

We have a shop color from Madelinetosh on three bases--Tosh DK, Tosh Merino Light, and new to us, Wool + Cotton. "Charlotte" is named for our yarn doll mascot, and we asked for a colorway with some light speckles to echo the knots in the wood walls and ceilings in our space. Please note that if you viewed the Tosh Merino Light and noted that the quantity available was zero, that was because yours truly failed to add the SKU to the online product. That's fixed now--and what's a complicated event without a small catastrophe?

We also have two sock yarns created for our anniversary event, "Blood, Sweat, & Tears" from Apple Fiber Studio listed with the Pretty Pretty Yarn Club, and "Normally Freaked" from Murky Depths Dyeworks.  (We also have fresh stock of about a dozen colors of Deep Sock.)

…to inspire

My great friend and Madelinetosh rep, Beverly, conspired with the dye kitchen to get a couple of skeins of Charlotte in time to knit up a sample--which I wore all day on Saturday. It's Neverwhere by Melanie Berg, and it features mock cables, brioche, and short-row shaping. And it's that long crescent shape that is so easy to wear. Two skeins of Tosh Merino Light plus an optional contrasting Unicorn Tail and Bob's your uncle...

If you suspect I didn't have much time to work on shop samples last week, you're absolutely right! Did that stop me from starting two test knits? Absolutely not! One is for LYS Day; the other is a little something coming in May from Pacific Knit Co
