Summer Clearance Continues! Yarn Folk

Above is this morning's view of the big table, currently in use as our summer clearance area. Even though a LOT of yarn went to good, new homes last week, there are still great deals (and I found some things in my storeroom that I'll be adding to both the 25% off and 50% off selections).

Additionally, I've been posting project ideas (many based on samples using these yarns) on my FB and Instagram stories. (Highlights here.)

There is a point where whatever remains will move to online-only clearance, but I have a little bit of time before I *really* need my workspace back!! 😂

All sales on clearance items are final, and winding services are not available. (You can find tips for winding yarn by hand here.)

Current open hours are Monday - Friday, 7am-3:30pm, and Saturdays, 9am-3pm.

In-store shopping: masks are recommended for all, and are REQUIRED for all unvaccinated guests over age 2. Thanks for your help in keeping my business open to the public!

Berroco Tee Party

July 30 - August 31, 2021

See the July 30th edition of Berroco's KnitBits Newsletter for more details! Remember that if there is a yarn from Berroco or one of their partner brands, we can have it drop shipped to you, if it is something we don't carry. (Summer Sesame, Mantra Stonewash, or Chai would all be great choices for a tee, and are currently in stock.)

...to anticipate

I just received some of the additional Freshwater Pearl Stitch Marker Sets from Purlsmith that I'd ordered with the autumn collection, due to ship later this month. I thought everything would ship together, but I'm perfectly happy to have these now--I'm wearing my Circling Pendant nearly every day!

A healthy restock of Universal Bamboo Pop and Bamboo Pop Sock also arrived. Bamboo Pop is always a fave for summer tops, and the Movie Night Cocoon Cardi only takes 2-3 balls of Bamboo Pop Sock.

…to inspire

The Lopi Book 40 trunk show arrived last week, and I am IN LOVE with these garments. Three of the four use Léttlopi exclusively; the fourth combines Álafosslopi with Léttlopi. (And Álafosslopi can be drop shipped through Yarn Folk, subject to color availability.) I have a copy of the pattern book for review, and a taking pre-order requests for it--it's a stunning collection. The garments will be shipped on to their next destination on Monday the 16th, so stop by this week to take a look in person!

Understated

Joji Locatelli's Understated (Ravelry link) in Berroco Summer Sesame is finished and blocked! I wish I'd photographed the v-neck before adding the neck ribbing, which is the final step. V-necks are so wild--they nearly always look like they will be utterly unwearable before you add the finishing trim, and that was especially so for this deep V.
The sizing on this design is XS-4XL, and because it is oversized, with a recommended positive ease of up to 20", that is a finished garment range of 50-76". I made the small, with finished bust measurement of 54". I needed 4 balls of Summer Sesame in Ocean (but had a generous amount left over). According to the yardage requirement XS and S take 4 balls (though I strongly suspect three would be enough for the XS); the M, L, and XL take 5, and the XXL, 3XL, and 4XL need 6. I used the recommended needles, and my blocked gauge was spot on, and it's the perfect fabric, with the tweed giving this classic design just the right amount of zhuzh! (The individual color images are of knitted swatches--so helpful in being able to see the colors within each ball.)
