Perhaps this will make you smile: what do you do when you get a big box of new yarn the day before LYS Day, and you have neither the time nor the space to deal with it? Cover it with a lace tablecloth and use it as a display surface, of course!
Missed the fun on Saturday? There are still fun items available here. Most of the pattern promotions were good only for the weekend, but the Madelinetosh Vinea Scarf Code and the Berroco Brick & Mortar Cowls are available for a bit longer. It was a really fun day, and whether you joined us in person, on line, late, or in spirit, a million thanks!
Join us around the big table for a couple of hours of convivial stitching.
Hopefully you already had a tracker or saw yesterday's email, but in case you didn't and you did do a little stitching yesterday, it's not to late to jump
We're bringing back this month-long challenge--you only have to commit to a few stitches a day to enter for prizes at the end. You can find details and a printable PDF here. If you share what you're working on online, please use the hashtags #KnitOrCrochetEveryDayInMay, #KnitOrCrochetEveryDayInMay2023, #KOCEDM, or #KOCEDM2023
We'll be celebrating Madelinetosh on May 20th--we're planning for trunk show garments, we'll have free pattern postcards to share with purchase, and there will be a giveaway for a Bubble Wrap Cowl kit, along with a couple of one of a kind skeins of Tosh Merino Light.
As I mentioned above, you can still find some limited edition merchandise, along with several project kits on our LYS Day 2023 page. I wanted to use this space to highlight the Vinea Scarf kits, shown here in the LYS Day color, Bonaire. It's still available to nab, and you can see what a wearable shape it is. I'll have this loaned sample in the shop for at least a few more days, and the free pattern is still available with any Madelinetosh purchase.
When Madelinetosh Wool + Cotton arrived in the shop for our 10th Anniversary celebration, the Hello, Weekend Collection was scheduled for release a week later. Well, it's live now, and we think the Silent Mode Scarf and the Champagne Brunch Shawl are especially great!
Remember those LYS Day Samples I was working on? I finished one, and got pretty close on the Casapinka Kitation Shawl! Above, the Berroco Brick Cowl. The suggested yarn is Ultra Alpaca; I kept the basic blend (wool + alpaca) but used Berroco Topaz, and I was really pleased with the result.
I'll share a finished and blocked photo of Kitation next week, but if you want a little sneaky peeky, you can find a short Instagram video I made here.
