CURRENT CLASSES & EVENTS

Social Stitching

Every Saturday, 2-4pm

Join us around the big table for a couple of hours of convivial stitching.

Winter Challenges

Schedule changes related to winter weather will be posted on the door if possible, as well as on Instagram, Facebook, and Google. If roads are crummy on a Saturday, opening time will likely be delayed until 11:30.

Gartergan KAL

January 14-February 28

Pattern here. This KAL will be self-directed, but please feel free to join in on Saturday social stitching, or to reach out for assistance. The beginning steps are well-designed and explained, but the cardigan starts out a bit differently than most, and I am happy to field questions! Recommended gauge is 20 stitches / 4"--lots of options will work for this! (Lore, Loch Lomond, Tosh DK, Encore, Lanas, Ultra Wool, Rios, Forge, Woolstok...)

Knitter Melissa was in in with two partially complete Killer Queen Cowls a couple of weeks ago, and this pattern is both *gorgeous* and looks like loads of fun to knit. It features multiple slipped stitch texture patterns, buttons, and subtle shaping to reduce the bulk of the fabric at the neck. It uses three skeins of Malabrigo Rios (two for the background color, one for the contrast color), and I've assembled kits--both with and without buttons
The pattern is sold separately from the yarn, so choose the color combo (or combos!) you like, AND add the Ravelry pattern from the drop-down menu. Put your Ravelry user name in the customer notes, and the pattern will be added to your library.

While what I am up to this week is more business related, I do love a bit of craft planning. I've mentioned Knitsonik's online, craft-focused bullet journaling course before. (Loved it, still use lots of it, may re-watch soon). The Craftic shop/tutorial site/blog has some printable craft planners for purchase, along with a few freebies when you sign up for their newsletter.

And if you're looking for some larger scale, year-long projects, it's not too late to start--take a look at these ideas from Jennifer's Little World.

Pressed Flowers Cardigan: Perhaps you saw the social media post where, when knitting in the round, I realized I should have been knitting the flower motifs as stockinette (not garter stitch) all along. The project is not in time out (and I will treat this very consistently applied error as a design change, rather than pulling out 2/3 of a cardigan), but I did not make a lot of progress on it this week 🤦

A long bus ride was a great opportunity for knitting on the shop sample for the Gartergan with Lore in the Ambitious colorway. I've knit the upper back and the upper right front. Next up: the upper left front.
