We dropped a little hint in the calendar section last week, but it's time to sign up if you would like to participate in this year's elf & gnome swap!
Here's how it works:
Each participant will make one (or more) small elf(ves) or gnome(s) to be dropped off or delivered by mail by December 11th. We will package them for secret swapping on December 14th.
Each participant will choose one mystery package for each elf or gnome contributed. We discourage swapsies--all elves are good elves :)
For participants unable to attend the December 14th event, we will hold your elf or gnome for pick up, or will mail to you if you don't anticipate being in Ellensburg soon.
We have created a Ravelry bundle with a variety of knit and crochet elf and gnome patterns here, but you may use any pattern you like (or improvise). Use whatever colors you like--no need to stick to a traditional palette. Patterns written for one weight of yarn can be made in a different weight, just remember to use a needle or hook that is smaller than you would normally use. Use leftover yarns from your stash, or if you need additional colors, we have lots of fingering weight mini skeins (which can also be held double if needed).
Bring your current project, and spend some time with others who really vibe on yarn!
Participation deadline: December 11
Swap: December 14, 9a - 1p
See above, and find the sign up form (and explanation) here! This was a really fun event last year, and we're excited to make it an annual tradition!

A little music this time. Jon Batiste lifts my spirits every time, and he has a new classical piano crossover album coming out this Friday, 11/15. Here is a sample.
Jon's site is here, and he is in all of the other places, as well.
Here is the size 2-4 Besties Hoodie, in Berroco Vintage DK, with about 1 1/3 arms. Once the second arm is complete, I'll complete the front pocket, and the hood. The Vintage DK is a pleasure to work with, soft, and washable--all great things for kid knits.
