It was a bit of a wait due to shipping delays--from the factory in Uruguay to the warehouse in Miami, and then in order processing times at the warehouse. However, the prize at the end was a box filled with all 16 colors in the new Encantados collection on Malabrigo Sock. These are soft and dusty colors--and to be honest, they are more muted than I typically like. But as I started pulling them out of the box and tagging them, I started to see the ways they combine and work together as a collection. And I quickly became, well, enchanted. Three of the colors--Jasmine, Myths, and Gingy--are the featured combination in the Temperance Shawl, so that kit is back in stock, along with fresh new color options.
Malabrigo Verano was also in the shipment, and we are so glad to have this wonderful Pima cotton yarn back in stock. (For an entire year, the only color available was the aptly named "Mud." Which is fine, just not as the one and only option.) Our shop sample in this yarn is the Tin Can Knits Waffles blanket, which took about 2 1/2 skeins, and leaves just enough for a coordinating baby hat. This cotton is nice to work with, and I would not (and did not) hesitate to machine wash and dry it.
And last, but not least, we received a big box from dyer of self-striping goodness, Knitterly Things! There's plenty of Vesper Sock available right now--and since everyone knows that knitting stripes is faster, you can cast on now and wear your new socks yet this fall! If plain socks aren't your thing, but you want to preserve the fun of the stripes, take a look at the Geek socks from Knitty.com!
Just the tiniest sneak peek at sample projects in some of the fall yarns slated to arrive soon!
