We're trying something new!
Starting this Sunday, and continuing at least through the holidays, Yarn Folk will be open 12pm - 4pm on Sundays! If you've been here awhile, you know that we were open Tuesday - Sunday from 2013-2020, and then shifted to Monday - Saturday from mid-2020 to the present. In part because our wonderful neighbors, The Botany Shop and Hayday Bake and Brew are open Sundays, we're going to give Sunday hours a trial again.
My son Zay, who has been helping with stocking, receiving, and many miscellaneous chores, will be covering this shift. He's been *around* the business since the beginning, and has been learning more *about* the business for the last number of months.

Every Saturday, 2-4p
ADDED! Every Tuesday, 10a-12p

Choose your own challenge for this January stitchalong. Inspired by a colloquialism that was a pillar of my childhood in Nebraska. Details in December.

Are you in love with any of them? I probably like DPNs best, but I acknowledge that they can be awkward and fiddly, especially when you are just starting a tube. Twelve inch circulars are alright for sleeves, but 9" shorties make my hands cramp. I like two circulars, but the planning ahead often gets the best of me--you want me to be in the same place as TWO of the same needle size that aren't already in use when I'm ready to start a tube? Your expectations are HIGH. Magic loop is incredibly utilitarian, but I don't like resetting the cable halfway through each and every round. Flexible DPNs are great, but again, I am often where they are not when I'm ready to begin a thing.
How about ✨traveling loop✨? It's similar to magic loop, but the excess cable is only drawn out in one place, and you readjust only once per round. This is something many people do informally, at the crown of a hat when you're decreasing, for example, but it does work better with a longer needle. Hannah in Analog has a clear tutorial on Instagram and on TikTok. Check it out!

Mosspath got a breath of fresh air this afternoon. She's still black, but you can see a bit of what is going on. I LOVE the Laine x Novita DK. An absolute joy to knit with.
Andrea Mowry's Jaunty in Lang Infinity is sooooo close to the midpoint!
And I finished the second clue of Joji Locatelli's One Love Mystery Shawl, but haven't started the third! More love for the Laine x Novita yarns, this time the 4 Ply.
