Yarn Folk has the best customers! Ever!

Saturday was such a joyful day. Thanks to everyone who came in or sent sweet messages. I had a great time, and I hope you did, too.

We're not done with April parties. Check this space next week to learn what we have planned for Girls Night Out (Thursday, April 23) and Local Yarn Store Day (Saturday, April 25). Lots to get ready before then!

…new in the shop

We're so glad we get to keep the Embery Fiber trunk show THROUGH Local Yarn Shop Day!. These are gorgeous colors, and beautiful bases, and you can find them here (or in the shop, of course).

If you weren't able to join us on Saturday, you'll also want to check out Kim Dyes Yarn Cronut Sport and Sourdough Sock. Such refreshing spring colors!. Both bases are here.

…to inspire

When Marie Greene was here at Yarn Folk last October, she went home with some yarn--and some of it turned up in her latest design, Arsenic and Old Lace.

© Marie Greene

It's a two color shawl with lots of lace details--but also pattern details to keep you on track: row-by-row instructions for every row you knit, stitch counts for every right side row, and formatting to highlight special stitches.  And there's also a 20% launch discount that ends on Saturday.

We had a trunk show from Tributary Yarn when Marie visited, so if you want to recreate this combination, grab a skein of Charlotte, our custom color of Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light, and grab a skein of Tributary Yarns Stream Sock in Wren from my friend Sunni at Yarn in Eureka, CA.

Or, go your own way, and combine two skeins of fingering weight yarn in colors you like--there are lots of great combinations possible in Kim Dyes Yarn Sourdough Sock, Symfonie Terra, Julie Asselin Leizu Fingering, Malabrigo Sock and Ultimate Sock and more!

I worked the upper left and part of the upper right of the Arcuate Vest in Blue Sky Fibers Organic Cotton Sport but other than that and a little bit of work on a secret crochet project for Local Yarn Store Day, I was mostly doing other things last week 🥵

PS, don't worry about the scandalous v-neck. The ribbed trim will fix it right up.
