Thirty percent off selected yarns!

It doesn't seem like it when you're digging out <ahem> 1-3" of snow that looks suspiciously more like 6-8", but spring will be here in two shakes of a lamb's tail, and there are a few things that need to find good homes so we have room for new yarns when it's their turn to arrive. So we've marked down the remaining stock of the following 30%:

Wooldreamers Saona

Malabrigo Washted

Berroco Carousel

Murky Depths Mirage

Urth Yarns Spiral Grain

Urth Yarns Harvest Worsted

Urth Yarns Uneek Worsted

Urth Yarns Color Your Pixels Kits

Selected Colors of The Fibre Co Lore

The Hot Cocoa scent of Hive & Holler lotion bars are also be 50% off with purchase of any other Hive & Holler scent. You must add both to your cart.

All above discounts are be applied automatically.

Reminder that this week, orders will go out within 48 hours, a little slower than our usual same-day service. Orders placed for local pick up will be available beginning Friday. And a small caveat--I normally do a supplementary inventory count on sale items before a price reduction, but that hasn't happened. If there is any discrepancy, we will contact you prior to fulfillment!

…new in the shop

I didn't take a photo of the restock, but our ravaged shelves of Encore Mega  and Encore Mega Colorspun are full again. Most colors are available, with the exception of a few that are on back order.

More reasons to swatch! I thought I would likely be using the Bermy Basic 20 with my planned yarn combination of Tukuwool DK and Creative Make It Tweed. However, I also wanted to experiment a little with how I wanted to use the tweed carry-along.  Every round? Every other? Something else? Because I was swatching flat*, I tried every row, and then alternated two with, two without. I liked the density of the tweed, but I wanted to keep more of the lavender color. I think that I will likely carry the tweed every third round.

But also, because I was making a large swatch, I had a generous space to measure my gauge, and rather than measuring 20 stitches over four inches, my swatch measured 18 stitches over four inches. So I'll be using the Bermy Basic 18. I'm not sure if anyone is making along beginning January 11, but if you've never made a garment, I think this pattern is very achievable. Despite the fact that you have many opportunities to customize, the basic pattern is simple, and clearly stated. Not to mention that there’s likely a version available for the yarn of your choice!

(*While the sweater is knit in the round, I am comfortable swatching flat, as I know that in general, my purls and knits are the same size, and therefore I don't see much variance between knitting flat and knitting in the round.)

The Spring Leaf Cardigan - Big Sis in Madelinetosh Woolcycle Sport in Fluororose. This is knit from the bottom up, and I'm about 2" from the beginning of the armhole.

This is the start of the Nia Sweater; I haven't worked on it yet, but I'm determined to work a little on each of the three knitting projects I brought with me to the Airbnb.

It's hard to catch this soft color in the winter light, but I cast on for the Bermy Basic 18. My first optional variation is to work the ribbing as 2x2 garter rib, rather than regular 2x2 rib. I'm also planning on knitting the cuff and hem ribbing rather deep, and working a split hem.
