There's a new kid on the Malabrigo wall: Meet TORZAL

Yes, that was an exciting subject line--and we'll get there in just a moment, I promise. But first, some time-sensitive reminders:

• SUNSET MARKET, Wednesday, 6-8pm at Unity Park. We'll be stitching in public again! We will plan to congregate where we met up last month, on the Fourth Ave side of the park, and please plan to bring your own camp chair. The forecast is calling for some breezy conditions, which should help with air quality. Hope you can join us!

Torzal is the first of two new yarn bases Malabrigo is introducing this year. It works up as a sport or DK yarn, and it combines that legendary superwash Merino wool softness with rich color. The colors are a mix of classics and newer introductions, but they are expressed as a 2 ply yarn with a handspun look. We were asked to keep this special yarn under wraps until its launch last week--which in my case was made easier by the fact that my shipment was delayed by several days. It's here now, though, and I can't wait to see what you make with it! I'll share some details on the project I've started below.  These are 50g hanks, and there are sixteen colors. There are also eight new colors of Arroyo, some with gentle watercolor vibes, and others with a earthy autumn vibes. As always, the yardage is a generous 335 yards in 100g. Equally viable as a DK or a sport weight yarn, Arroyo is a great choice for season-spanning tees. Find all the colors--new and old--here.

New projects brought to you by FINISHED projects! I finished the Friday Tee in CottonWool 3 on a Friday! I'd finished the knitting on Thursday, wove in the ends on Friday morning, and blocked it. It wasn't quite dry by the end of the day, but it didn't need me to DO anything further. The CottonWool 3 is a 50% organic Merino wool / 50% organic cotton blend, and it has enough bounce to make it a perfectly pleasant knit. If you saw my short video on Instagram, you can see how nicely the fabric moves. At only $9 / ball, it's a great bargain, too.
