Jimothy's Look at Our Summer Clearance ๐ฆ ๐ ๐๏ธ
July 28, 2026
Jimothy is here to remind you that our summer clearance sale is in progress. Need a new project at a nice price?
How about color blocking in
Merino 401 with the Tin Can Knits
Besties Hat,
Besties Hoodie, or
Besties Cardigan? One thing to remember is that although Merino 401 is a non-superwash yarn, we ran some in-house experiments on it, and while it changed when put through a worst-case scenario laundry test, the swatch we washed fulled, but did not felt, and was a very nice fabric. And the full garment test in a top-load washer with an agitator on the gentle cycle resulted in no change at all.
Merino 401 is next-to-skin soft for most people.
There are sweater quantities of West Yorkshire Spinners
Fable Brushed Aran in its array of gentle neutrals. You'll want a pattern for worsted to aran yarn. It's also a great choice for the
Sophie Hood, and was a recommended yarn for Sarah Hatton's
Betwixtmas 2025 Makealong.
If a fingering weight garment is more your speed, check out
Deep Sock. Need to make an easy-care baby gift?
Rico Baby Dream DK is one of the nicest synthetics I've ever felt.

We knew that "What's that?" would be the question of the day when we put out this dish of new gadgets.ย They are
Acrylic Skein Locks from Katrinkles, and they are brilliant.ย You know when your project uses multiple skeins of yarn, and the ones that aren't in use roll around in the bottom of your project bag in a desperate effort to become a hot mess? Push one of these into your ball, catching any loose ends and they'll be secure until you need them again. So, so clever.

Tour de Fleece Wrap Up:
As a newer spinner, I had two main goals for Tour de Fleece:
1) Spin every day, and
2) Start spinning the yoke colors for the Paul Klee Sweater.
I did spin (or ply) at least a little every day, and I completed the first 10 mini skeins for the sweater yoke. In addition to those, I spent the first few days finishing the spinning and plying a skein of hand dyed Targhee (in order to clear the bobbins the singles were on), and also worked a bit on my wheel spun project, some VERY brightly colored Shaniko wool with plenty of neps.
The next spinning challenge is Spinzilla, and it's a team event. We'll have more info on registering as soon as the organizing committee finalizes the details.

There are nine black stripes to the right of the marking pin; there need to be ten, at which point I will be rewarded with 2" of 1x1 ribbing. Then (short) sleeves. My goal is for the Friday Tee in CottonWool 3 to be finished by next week! ๐ค๐ปย
