The Stockholm Hat, & Deep Winter 2022 from Hudson + West Yarn Folk

Petite Knitter's The Stockholm Hat worked up perfectly in West Yorkshire Spinners The Croft DK--the all-over speckles really suit the simplicity of this design. One nice aspect of this pattern is that the sizing is achieved by adding height prior to the crown shaping, rather than adding additional stitches. The 1x1 ribbing is super stretchy, and gives nearly any size noggin a gentle hug. And the generous folded brim provides extra warmth over the ears. (Psst--this would be a great Super Bowl project--it's just 1x1 ribbing for a LONG time!)

Current open hours are Monday - Thursday, 7am-3:30pm, Friday 8:30am - 5pm and Saturdays, 9am-4pm.

Hudson + West debuted their Deep Winter 2022 Collection last week, and it's another gorgeous offering featuring plenty of cables. Gorge, a big cozy cowl, is pictured above, and you can view the full collection on Ravelry here, and browse our inventory of the Hudson + West yarns here (including kits for the Laurel Shawl).  We're looking forward to hosting the actual garments in a couple of weeks!

I am pretty pleased with how quickly this project is moving along, in light of the fact that last Monday, I had just frogged every bit of progress I'd made! (Recap: I wanted to add a strand of mohair to the Lopi for the pattern color, and forgot to do it.)

Vár is worked on size 9 needles, so even though it is a design with a relaxed, and oversized fit (and therefore more stitches), it works up quickly. Finished object next week? We'll see!

(This sweater has short row shaping after the colorwork, to drop the back hem a bit--it's a nice detail.)
