Starke Bruder 6 & Gleeners now in stock

While I have been making progress on the shop sample for Marie Greene's 10th and final 4 Day KAL, I've also been swatching some yarn suggestions.

From bottom to top, Remix Wool DK (my choice for the shop sample), Urth Yarns Etesia (swatched on two needle sizes), Berroco Vintage DK, and Lana Grossa Ecopuno. Full disclosure, only the yellow (Ecopuno) blocked to the exact gauge. The other three are close enough that you could make an informed size choice OR try a smaller needle size. Not "getting gauge" isn't the end of the world--but I think there is a lot to be said for making informed choices!

Olive Knits 4 Day* KAL

*and by 4 Day we mean totally optional challenge, July 1-31. We will be hosting a cast-on/stitching event, date TBD. This is the 10th & final 4 Day KAL!

…new in the shop

Starke 6 Bruder is a brightly hued 75% wool / 25% recycled nylon that is the same weight as Edition 3, but in shaded tonal gradations. Just like Edition 3, I think this yarn would be a knockout for colorwork (yokes, hats, mittens--you name it!). I mean, just look at those colors!

Also, I forgot to mention these when they arrived, but we restocked the Gleener pill removal tool, and added the new (and very portable) Sweater Saver Comb. These are a great help for keeping your hand knit and crochet items looking fresh!

…to inspire

I'm a tiny bit under the weather today, so we're outsourcing inspo to Miranda of One Knit Wonder. If you are not following her Instagram account, it's well worth a look--she does a great job of rounding up patterns that meet different criteria. There's a recent focus on spring and summer knits, and the screenshot above is from a review of fingering weight sweaters.

...currently stitching

I've divided for the sleeves of the Watermark Cardigan! And between swatching and knitting to this point, I definitely have the lace pattern memorized. If you're thinking of joining in on the KAL fun and haven't knit much lace, this is a great pattern to start with. And if a pullover is more your jam, you can find the Watermark Pullover here

The Friday Tee is waiting patiently for me to finish the cardigan and return. I genuinely miss stitching on those 3mm needles.

And, I'm looking for a Junigurumi project to use a little bit of handspun yarn to make. The skein I'm thinking of isn't very big, so I'm looking for a small critter. Maybe this guy?
