Semi-Annual Clearance Sale: everything now 50-75% off!

I was planning to do clearance markdowns and send out an email on Sunday, but life had other plans. We said goodbye to our 16½ year old kitty, Blur. After thirty-five continuous years of living with cats, yesterday morning was very disconcerting, with absolutely no one demanding breakfast 😿

Which brings us to today--clearance items have now been marked down, and I'm letting you know within regular email parameters. Everything is now 50-75% off! Make it go away, please :)

…new in the shop

I'm putting off talking about a few other new things in favor of highlighting these arrivals--because we've been out of wool wash for awhile! Eucalan has been our standard offering since we opened--it's a great product, and we love it. However, they experienced a production issue, and our distributor hasn't had any for quite a few months. We ARE able to fill the 16.9oz bottles from our bulk supply, but that's all we have right now.

Enter CMS Supply Co wool wash! Available in several appealing scents, and poured by hand in Alexandria, Virginia, this product is no rinse, gentle, and has a touch of lanolin.

In addition to making wool wash, candles, and reed diffusers, Cady is also a yarn dyer, and since she had three fun Halloween-inspired colorways available, I ordered just a little taste! Find these colors here.

I still love blocking! And having even more space to do it in is amazing. Once I finished the back piece of Oban, I blocked it to match the front, and then remembered I'd only steam blocked the sleeves. So they went into the bath as well.

This is an easy-to-seam design--you start by connecting the shoulder seams, then attach the drop sleeves, and then sew the side seams and sleeve seams starting from the underarm and ending with the hems. Even without obsessive row marking, it was easy to keep the pieces the same length just by counting the cable turns.

I'd thought I'd be all finished with Oban, but instead of seaming, I ended up making a very straightforward hat on Sunday morning. This is the Bear Ears Beanie Hat, and the yarn is Berroco Millstone Tweed, which is soft, and tweedy, and perfect for this design. All of the children's sizes (0-3 months to 4-12 years) take a single ball; the teen and adult sizes take two.
