Plan Your Visit: Yarn Folk’s Holiday Hours Inside

Jeez, if you saw this on Instagram, please note that we are closing at 3:30p on Christmas Eve, NOT 5:00. The moral of the story is that I should not be doing this type of infographic before I have any caffeine! Also, we're waiting until next week to decide whether we'll be open New Year's Day. (This will be a weather-related call.)

We WILL be hosting social stitching at the normal times, Tuesday 10a - noon, and Saturday, 2-4p. Have a friend or family member visiting? Bring them along!

This is also the point in our regularly scheduled programming where we highlight  the fact that you can purchase a gift card online ANY TIME. (You have the option to choose the delivery date.) Find them here.

We will have more information on our abbreviated hours during my planning break (January 5-8) next week.

…mark your calendars

…new in the shop

The reorder of lotion bars from Hive & Holler has been a whole saga! They've been in Yakima...and then Seattle...and then Spokane.... They left Spokane at 4am yesterday; here's hoping that they were in fact headed here!

It's the time of year when our needle and notions vendors close down to count everything, so we're expecting a big restock this week. We want you to have the tools you need to start your New Year's projects!

…to inspire

This is not specifically yarn related. Except that if you enjoy ambient holiday yule log videos as a background to your cozy making activities, I can now highly recommend Lil BUB's Magical Yule Log Playlist. Lil BUB passed away in 2019, and I can't fathom why I never encountered her internet presence before this year. I'm here for it now, though.

She was a kitty with feline dwarfism, so she appeared to be a kitten for her entire life, and her lower jaw was short, so she had a permanent blep. Her legacy continues through Lil BUB's Big Fund, which funds advocacy and rescue work for special needs companion animals. If you are interested in sharing some cheer with an organization providing direct care, my sweet niece Tawny has been a volunteer with SNAP Cats in Santa Rosa, CA for years.

...currently stitching

Mosspath: I finished!! 🥳

Jaunty: I'm close to finishing, just as I have one and only one skein left of the yarn I made it in (and it's out of stock at the distributor). I think this would also be lovely in Berroco Vellina or Wizard!

Gift project: You can see my Ravelry project here.

Prospect Pullover: Started this, and I'm almost finished with the upper back short rows.

Another gift: I also started this, and should finish it tonight or tomorrow. In Vientos on US 9s, so it's speedy.
