Meet Leizu Fingering from Julie Asselin!

It's commencement season, and this year, we have a graduate! Zay, who has covered the shop for me on occasion for years, and currently helps with receiving, will graduate with a BA in Philosophy Saturday morning, so we will not be opening the shop until 1pm. Thank you for your grace as we celebrate this big milestone!

…new in the shop

We are so excited to welcome Julie Asselin's yarn to the shop! We have 10 colors of Leizu Fingering, a stunning blend of 90% superwash Merino and 10% silk. Julie Asselin is based in Sherbrooke, Québec, and the yarn bases are developed collaboratively and spun specifically for Julie in Canada. As a product that is produced entirely in North America, it is not subject to tariffs at this time.

The soft and luminous fabric you can create with this yarn is perfect for accessories and garments alike. Samantha Guerin's Pampas Tee was designed with Leizu Fingering in mind, as was Isabelle Racette's Diamants Rosés. And did you know that silk in a sock yarn can provide the strength of nylon, but in a natural fiber?

I don't want to jinx anything, but it seems like it might be summer? I saw this clever project on Instagram, and thought it would be so useful! You can find the Camping Chair Cozy Crochet Pattern here.

...currently stitching

Astro Pop is finished--blocked, ends woven in, and everything! You can find my project details on Ravelry here. I'm back to working on Oban in Cooke Creek Sheep Co.'s Coopworth Natural--I'm close to having both sleeves finished--THEN on to the front and back! (The pattern is written that way! I'm not up to any shenanigans!)

This is my other WIP 🙃
