What a fun day we had celebrating Malabrigo's 20th Anniversary! We've carried multiple bases over the years, and Rios has been a shop favorite for that entire stretch--something I credit to the high quality of the fiber, the reasonable pricing for a hand-dyed merino, and regular updates to the expansive palette. It's a juggernaut of a yarn for a reason!
Congratulations to door prize winners Kim, Megan, and Lynn!
I've got my thinking cap on regarding some future yarn spotlights--it was a lot of fun building a party around our shared experience working with a specific yarn. Stay tuned!

…new in the shop
One aspect of our Malabrigo party was the opportunity to introduce a fabulous new yarn--Vientos. It is a two ply chunky Merino wool, it is a superwash yarn, and it is a dream to knit with. I made the Petal and Leaf hat as a quick sample--this is the child size, and I had enough yarn left over that I could have made at least the adult small.
We still have some printed patterns (and stickers) left over from Malabrigo Day, and we will continue sharing those when you make a Malabrigo purchase. Take a look at the Vientos Cowl if you'd like to play with 2-3 skeins of Vientos!
It's time for a Joji Locatelli mystery KAL! It's a one skein shawl, and she says the clues are doable in the course of a week. The first clue will be released on Saturday, and you could potentially be finished by Thanksgiving! (The last clue releases 11/19.) Oh, and the pattern is only $3!
I haven't done a MKAL in awhile, and a little one is appealing! I'm planning to use the Laine x Novita 4 Ply; now to pick a color.
Find the pattern here, and shop for fingering weight yarn here. (420+ yards recommended.)

So excited to have finished the Lakes V-Neck in Berroco Wizard! Partly because it's so soft and squishy, partly because finishing it with folded over ribbing is so satisfying, and partly because I have been anxiously waiting to cast on Mosspath in Laine x Novita DK. (In black, because I am a glutton for punishment....)
The Sophie Hood in Basta is back in active status, and I could start the decreasing scarf section as early as tonight.
Isn't this heel cool? I'll be interested to see how the heel fits--it looks promising, and was fun to work. These are the Rib It Socks (Kite Heel) in Knitted Wit Sock, Yarn Folk colorway.
