February 8
We hope the Seahawks will be playing in it (!!), but Mr. Yarn Folk and I decided we will be hosting a watch party upstairs at Yarn Folk. Kickoff is at 3:30pm. Snacks and sodas provided, and of course, this is a craft friendly event!
February 15, Noon, doors open at 11:30
Yarn Folk is a proud sponsor of Rodeo City Derby, and we're inviting you to join us at this home bout at Ellensburg High School. Tickets are $7 in advance, $15 at the door. Buy advance tickets here.
Presidents' Day -- we'll be open unless the weather is really grim.

We got a restock of Lang Inifinity, and we finally get to show you our finished sample of Andrea Mowry's Jaunty pattern! We used two skeins for the sample, and it has a wingspan of 70" and is 14" deep at its widest point. Each of the four shades of Infinity has a set range of colors, but the length of each stripe and the color sequencing are randomized, so you will never get bored working with this yarn!

Last week to order Valentine Surprises! More info at the link.

Thinking of joining us at Rodeo City Roller Derby's bout on February 15th? Roller Derby is fast-paced and fun to watch even when you have no idea what is happening, but if you want a primer before heading to the game, there is some good basic on Rodeo City's site here, and in addition to the explainer video linked there, I like this one for the additional details it adds.
I hope you'll join us on the 15th, and like our watch party on the 8th, this will be a craft friendly event!

Prospect Pullover: in Ultra Wool. Sleeve #2 is about halfway done. I'm commuting solo this week, which really cuts into my travel knitting time!
Kraken Cowl: In Morris, and I am SOOOO close. Here's a peek at the reverse side, showing how I used ladderback jacquard to manage the floats throughout. I just have to knit the upper ribbing, weave in the ends, and block. Also, I won this round of yarn chicken--I had just about 12" of the "sea" color left when I finished the chart!
Ginny Cardigan: Lanas Light held with Aerial mohair for the DK gauge. Not a lot of progress on this one, but I did pull out ten rows or so back to where I'd made an error without much drama, so I'll take that as a win for the week!
