First Look at our 13th Anniversary Party, 4/11!

When? Saturday, April 11, 9a - 4p
What? Our annual birthday bash!

Say more?

This year, we are rolling with a teen theme--playful, fun, and not taking ourselves too seriously! Here's what we have planned:

  • a trunk show
  • new yarn from one of our favorite indie dyers (two bases)
  • goodie bags while supplies last
  • Girl Scout cookies
  • pending -- the timing on this one is tricky, but there's one more thing we are trying to get in place before the 11th
  • chances to enter in-store raffle

We love celebrating with you--join us any time during the day, including our regular Social Stitching time from 2 - 4p. Make a day of it and bring a fiber friend with you!

Our annual challenge!

…new in the shop

We've got a lot of things in the works--yarn on order, fun April events coming right up--but this week, it's the little things making us smile.

Buttons: we got some really fun new buttons. We hear all the time that it's hard finding buttons out there in the world--gone are the days when JoAnn Fabrics had cards and cards of them. We focus on buttons for hand knit and crocheted garments--mostly between 1/2" and 1". Dreaming up a cardigan? We might have your perfect buttons!

Stickers: In addition to the Studious Owl Press stickers we featured last week we got an order from Mimic Gaming Co. They've added a bunch of designs since the last time we had them!

…to inspire

It's bunny season! Here's a collection of bunny patterns I've collected on Ravelry, in case you're inspired to whip one up. (Nilli Nilli and Uni Merino Minis are great for this kind of project.)

...currently stitching

Rolling along on the Arcuate Vest in Blue Sky Fibers Organic Cotton Sport. The density of the cables is staggered; we'll start to see that effect soon.

Did not make progress on the Bliss-Bloss Shawl, between driving myself to and from work at the end of the week, and working on Sunday... I want to get back to that one--the Caprino is so lovely.

Spinning: I finished a braid of Greenwood Fiberworks BFL. This is about 177 yards, 89g. (I sacrificed about 11g to an ill-fated experiment.)
