Early Spring Start-itis?

March 10, 2026

I pulled yarn and printed patterns for FOUR new projects last week! In my defense, I did also finish two. And I only actually started two, although that may change this week.

How about you? Are you feeling the urge to start new things?

…new in the shop

We got a little restock of Lemonwood MiniMinders, the Whirl tabletop stands for your MiniMinder, and extra long MiniMinder sticks. Whether you're taking your project on the go, or you're working on it from your "nest" at home, these tools are favorites for a reason!

We also freshened up our selection of Stitch Stoppers. Even though it's snowy on Snoqualmie Pass as I am writing this, it's sunny here in Ellensburg, and it can be Spring in our hearts! 💚🌷🍀

Two of the four projects included in my starting frenzy are vests. I don't know about you, but most years, the actual weather takes longer to catch up to what it should be in my mind, and then it takes my body awhile to catch up with the warmer weather when it arrives.

The Edgar Slipover pictured above calls for two strands of mohair held with a sport weight yarn for a fabric that is 14 stitches over 4". I'm taking a slightly different path to that gauge, holding one strand of mohair (Berroco Aerial) with Berroco Vellina

I also have a swatch started for the Arcuate Vest, and I'm using Blue Sky Fibers Organic Cotton Sport. While I'm anxious to start, I'm going to hold off on this one until I get the replacement speed control for my ball winder. I could wind everything manually, but I could also just work on the projects that are already ready to go!

For whatever reason, I have two Ravelry bundles of vest-like garments: Slipover Season and Vests. Some patterns are in both bundles. But maybe you'll see something you like!

Prospect Pullover: in Ultra Wool. Fini!

The Ginny Cardigan in Lanas Light and Aerial I reevaluated, and this is still an active project, but I decided it would be okay if this doesn't get completed until later in the year.

Basic Beanie (1x1 rib version) in handspun yarn for my nephew. Finished, and delivered in time for his birthday.

Attabi Scarf in Echoes Aran You should see this one as a FO next week! This is a really enjoyable knit--and I don't usually say that about rectangular scarves!
Spinning: I'm currently working on 8 oz of oatmeal colored Bluefaced Leicester. I divided the fiber and am almost done with the first bobbin. The second half by weight will get spun on a second bobbin, and then they will be plied on a third.
