The Autumn Alpine sweater continues the Scandinavian-inspired floral design from Caitlin Hunter's Alpine Bloom Hat and Alpine Bloom tee patterns. The circular yoke design is knit from the top down with sport weight yarn, with short rows at the back neck for improved fit of the yoke, and (optionally) at the lower hem to drop the back of the sweater.
There is also interesting texture and just a bit of repeated color at the neck, hem, and cuffs. The sleeves have a slight balloon shape. Recommended fit for this design is positive ease of 2-8".
We've based these kits on the yarn used for our shop sample--Tukuwool Fingering. While technically a fingering wait yarn, this non-superwash Finnish wool is woolen-spun, giving the knit fabric a lofty bloom. We found it to knit to the stated gauge on the suggested needles.
Kits includes the recommended yardage for main color and contrast color, and we've simplified by combining sizes that require the same number of skeins. Note that we found the yardage estimates very generous; as always, your mileage may vary. The Autumn Alpine pattern is not included; you can find it here.
