Did you see our Sunday email? Semi-Annual Clearance Sale is now in progress!
July 29, 2025
Did you see Sunday's off-schedule email? Our semi-annual clearance sale started Sunday. There are some fantastic yarns available, and if there is one thing that has been true every year, it's that if you want enough yardage for your project, it's best to shop the sale early. I generally start the sales on Sunday as a way of thanking you for subscribing to our weekly emails!
A really nice gift I discovered when prepping the sale was that last year, I (apparently) made myself a very detailed checklist of the steps I need to follow to set everything up, physically, and online. It was an amazing thing to discover!

I'll never be accused of not loving British wool... We've had (and loved) The Croft before--first as the tweed-effect aran, and then as the tweed-effect DK. I've been eyeing the solids for a couple of years--they are rich on their own, and play together nicely in colorwork. I made Marie Greene's Brookings in the tweed-effect, and I am sorely tempted to make a new one in a solid. It's a GREAT pattern, and if you're inclined to coordinate a family wardrobe, there is also a Brookings Crew and a Babbling Brook 😊
And while it is an excellent sweater yarn, it's also perfect for accessories--soft and cozy, with enough structure to handle daily wear. It's a suggested yarn for a number of Thea Colman's patterns, like Coralillo, below:
Reminder: Purly Shell Fiber trunk show is at Yarn Folk through Wednesday! Fiber batts are here, and Super Shine Merino/Tencel fingering is here.

Have you ever come to Social Stitching? One of the biggest factors in deciding to pursue a new, and larger space wasn't the opportunity to increase the retail space (although we did that, too). It was the fact that on many Saturdays, Social Stitching had become almost too cozy. Now, this was basically a good problem, but it did make it harder for new folks to join the fun. I don't think we ever technically ran out of chairs, but we did get perilously close to running out of space on any number of occasions.
In the Stitching Loft now, there are two big tables, 28 chairs, and in a worst case scenario, the west wall has a bench along its entire length. AND, starting today, we've added back a daytime weekday session, every Tuesday from 10am until noon. If you've ever thought about joining in, now's the time! There's no skill requirement, people are friendly, and there's room for YOU!

Oban! O won't you be done soon? (I did finish the front last week.) I'm trying to stay very focused on finishing this, but I have things I want to start, and on top of that, I have yarn samples I'm swatching! It's such a nice, intuitive pattern, but I will be excited to finish it soon!
